Thanks! This is a great question and really we don’t know. Fruit is high in fructose, as is honey. Could eating a ton of fruit every day be as bad as drinking regular soda or fruit juice every day? Possibly. When you think about our ancestors, they only had an availability to fruit seasonally and not all year round like we do now. This could be a problem. I’ll admit, I eat a lot too, at least 2 bananas and an apple a day, but the studies show as long as you’re exercising you’re going to use that excess fructose as energy instead of creating triglycerides via de novo lipogenesis. There is actually a group looking at this now so the study should be published within a year or so (long-term study).
